Hello, dark hearts! 🖤 I’m your resident chaos connoisseur and one of the two anonymous voices behind this velvet-and-venom-laced blog.

What you can know about me is that I am a crazy Sagittarius mom from the south. A jack-of-all-trades type with a true crime blog, almost enough books to create a library, a bad boy addiction, and a spiritual person who puts a little too much weight on tarot and astrology.

I live for the morally gray heroes and the heroines who thrive in the shadows. To honor that, I’m kicking off an epic journey: a full re-read of Rina Kent’s intensely addictive Legacy of Gods series, starting with the one that hooked us all, “God of Malice.”

I’m diving back in to give you my raw, real-time reactions—from the initial spark of tension to the inevitable explosions—as I read it again.

Think of this as reading with a friend who already knows the secrets! Want to see my immediate, unfiltered thoughts as Killian and Glyndon’s story unfolds? Make sure you’re following the blog and my Facebook (here) to keep up with every dark twist and turn.

But beware, there will likely be spoilers.

Now, let’s get twisted…

Alright, dark romance addicts, gather ’round! When Rina Kent drops a book, especially one kicking off a series like “Legacy of Gods,” you know it’s going to be a wild ride. And let me tell you, “God of Malice” is already proving to be everything I expected and more. And I never get tired of starting this crazy series.

I’ve just torn through the first three chapters, and my head is spinning in the best possible way.

From the moment I cracked open Chapter 1, it was clear: this isn’t just dark, it’s deliciously dark.

Kent wastes no time in plunging us into the elite, cutthroat world of the Royal Elite School’s progeny, and the atmosphere is thick with tension, unspoken threats, and a palpable sense of power dynamics.

Our heroine, Glyndon, is already intriguing me. She feels like a caged bird, trying desperately to find her wings in a gilded cage.

You can practically feel her desperation and the weight of her past pressing down on her. My heart already aches for her, knowing the kind of chaos she’s about to face.

And then there’s Killian Carson. Oh. My. God. Killian is a whole new breed of menacing allure. He’s not just brooding; he’s a storm cloud waiting to unleash lightning.

The instant connection – that spark of repulsion and undeniable fascination – between him and Gylndon in those early pages is electrifying. Especially the way she describes in detail what his eyes look like. How dead they are.

He’s so unpredictable, and that’s what caught me off guard as someone who easily pins down books after reading so many.

The setup within these initial chapters hints at so much more beneath the surface. The whispers of secrets, the veiled threats, the social hierarchy – it’s all meticulously crafted to make you desperate for answers.

I can’t go without mentioning the cliff scene. Woah HOT!

It taught me things I did not know about myself, if you know what I mean wink. Who knew an author would ever use a dubcon spicy scene to save a character’s life?

Kent has expertly laid the groundwork for a truly addictive enemies-to-lovers (or perhaps, enemies-to-obsessed) saga. The power imbalance is already screaming, and I’m here for every uncomfortable, thrilling moment.

I’m officially hooked (again), tangled in Killian’s web, and ready to dive back in for more.

What were your first thoughts on these chapters? Let me know in the comments below – no spoilers past Chapter 3, please!
